Summary
The Liberty Energy process involves converting organic waste streams, also known as biomass, into renewable fuel gas which is used on-site to produce electricity. The Liberty gasifier is autogenous, it does not use any fossil fuel during operation! The energy from the biomass sustains the gasification process, provides the facility’s power, and most importantly provides power to the grid. Each Liberty Modular Unit generates 5.7MW of renewable electricity and exports 5.0MW of that to the grid. The Liberty Modular Units are typically designed for use in groups of 2-4 to produce 10MW-20MW of renewable energy, approximately enough for 10,000 to 20,000 homes! Low cost, renewably generated steam can also be used by nearby commercial buildings, industrial operations, and in district heating systems.
Liberty’s Modular Units generate renewable energy using advanced, but proven technology to substantially decrease the environmental impacts of current methods of handling these organic waste streams while at the same time displacing the pollution generated from the extraction of coal and natural gas for combustion in power plants. The net effect is substantial environmental improvements, sustainable reuse of organic waste streams, creation of well paying careers, long term economic development, and carbon negative renewable electricity. Liberty Energy provides all of the necessary principles for healthy and sustainable organic waste management and renewable energy generation!
What is BioMass
Biomass is a broad term which includes non-hazardous, carbon based organic matter. Biomass which can be converted into renewable energy by the Liberty Modular BioEnergy Unit includes;Green Waste – Tree Trimmings, Lawn Clippings, “Green Bin”Urban Waste Wood – Clean Construction Waste Wood, Broken Pallets and Crates, and Manufacturing/Packaging WastesArbor Waste Wood – Forest Overgrowth CollectionBiosolids – Treated Sewage Sludge (bio solids) Agriculture Waste – Animal Manures, Post Harvest Leavings
Food Waste – Food Production/Processing Byproducts
Improving the Environment
Liberty’s process reinforces the core concept of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” by converting organic waste materials with no higher/better use into renewable energy. This allows for the sustained beneficial reuse of the organic Biomass materials and avoids disposal of the materials into landfills or disposal by other methods with increased environmental impact and less beneficial end product. Further, power generation facilities are required to mitigate any emissions by purchasing credits which are used to reduce the emissions generated by existing operations within an air basin. The net result is that the Liberty BioEnergy process does not add new pollution to the environment. Instead, there is significant pollution removed by both ending old reuse/disposal methods and by replacing non-renewable, coal and natural gas power production. The Liberty BioEnergy process is Kyoto Protocol friendly and meets all environmental regulations in the United States, Canada, and the European Union.
